Tae Soo Do® Programs

The student enrolled into the Tae Soo Do ® program will learn a variety of Martial Art skills that will give them the foundation necessary to advance into the Hwa Rang Do® program. Here is a list of the basic skills needed to move into the graduate program.

· Practical self-defense skills
· Kicking skills. From standing, jumping, spinning, thrusting, snapping.
· Hand techniques. From open, closed, circular, straight.
· Joint manipulation. From standing, close in, apart, and ground level.
· Takedowns & Throws.
· Weaponry. Long Staff, Sword, and Korean Nunchuk (Sang-Jyel-Bong)
· Beginner & Advanced forms. Weapon and open hand type.
· Basic falling techniques. Front, Back, Side, Face, and Flip fall.
· Stretching and agility drills.
· Basic sparring technique. Light to medium contact, w/protective equipment.

Tae Soo Do Theory
Tae Soo Do®(the way of the warrior) was created by the modern founder of Hwa Rang Do®, Dr. Joo Bang Lee, for the person that is new to the study of the classic martial arts. This entry-level division is for both children and adults. It is the undergraduate program to Hwa Rang Do®. The Tae Soo Do® program gives the beginner the chance to experience the benefits of the classic martial arts with out compromising their lifestyle.

Tae Soo Do® training focuses on the foundation of the martial arts such as basic stances, hand and leg drills, stretching, agility drills, and basic concepts of self-defense. The student will undergo the process of transforming themselves from having no or little knowledge of the classic martial arts to obtaining a greater understanding of various aspects of the study of martial arts all within a timeframe of 18 to 24 months.

After the student reaches the level of Black-Belt 1st Degree in the Tae Soo Do® program, they are eligible to enter the graduate program of Hwa Rang Do®.
